We are delighted to announce the launch of the dedicated website for the XXXVII Annual Meeting of the European Eye Bank Association (19-21 March 2026, A Coruña - Spain), which is being organized in collaboration with the Asociación Española de Bancos de Tejidos (AEBT). Here you can find all the details about the event, including the preliminary scientific programme, abstract submission guidelines, deadlines, and contact information (https://eeba2026congress.com). In addition, you can access the online registration platform and abstract submission portal for this event.
The Meeting will be an excellent opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experience between eye banking professionals, medical experts, researchers and of course experienced ophthalmologists from Europe and beyond
The European Union’s new SoHO Regulation, which covers blood, tissues and cells, will enter into force in August 2027. This new scenario aims to improve patient and donor safety, foster innovation, harmonize standards across the EU, and will have an impact on all those entities and establishments that retrieve, test, process, preserve, store and distribute human donor tissue for therapeutic application. From this perspective, EEBA 2026 will explore key aspects relating to this new scenario and examine the safety and quality factors required to ensure the provision of safe and effective tissues to clinicians and their patients.
The Scientific Programme is organised into workshops, keynote lectures, free papers and posters, and offers participants the opportunity to analyse the most recent scientific developments and learn from each other.
The EEBA 2026 Local Organising Committee encourages you to present your expertise and insight in the field of cornea banking and transplantation and to take advantage of the networking possibilities with international peers and experts in order to advance best practice and facilitate communication between all the different stakeholders involved in corneal transplantation, eye banking and the treatment of ocular surface diseases.
Please note that the Abstracts Submission deadline is 24 November 2025 and the Early Bird Registration fee is applicable until 16 January 2026.
